Her practice is shaped by an architectural understanding of space and a long-standing engagement with art, objects and material. Rather than treating interiors as a collection of individual elements, she considers how proportion, light, texture and contrast come together to create a coherent spatial experience.
With a background in spatial architecture and object design, her work developed through different scales — from furniture and sculptural objects to installations, scenography and interior environments. This interdisciplinary perspective continues to inform the way she designs today: moving between the architectural structure of a space and the tactile detail of an object.
Her approach is intuitive yet considered. Contrasts are used to create balance; reduction brings clarity, while materiality gives a space depth and character. Art is not understood as decoration added at the end, but as part of the spatial composition.
Through Spatial Studio BE, Betuel develops residential, hospitality and commercial interiors as well as selected spatial concepts — creating spaces that feel quiet, distinctive and deeply connected to the people and context they belong to.
